Jersey Country House

Set on the north eastern tip of Jersey with uninterrupted coastal views, this mid-70s house was our client’s childhood home. Now living here with his own young family, his aim is to create a country house aesthetic with a fresh, contemporary twist.

We are delighted to be working in collaboration with local firm Godel Architects to remodel and renovate the property, and complete a full interior refurbishment. A new extension will allow for a larger master bedroom; we are also reimagining the lower ground floor guest bedrooms to make them more comfortable.

Inspired by the landscape and our client’s love of nature, we have chosen a calming scheme that connects to the outdoors. Natural stone and timbers will be paired with linens while light neutrals are complemented by accents of olive green and earthy brown. The layering of materials and multiple textures will create a series of comfortable, practical spaces for both day living and casual entertaining with family and friends. These include the library in the formal reception room which will feature a leather armchair, Ikat silk lampshade and the couple’s personal collection of books and objects. Other understated design details will focus on antique and mid-century pieces that lend a sense of playfulness and considered individuality. The result will be a family-friendly house that feels happy and relaxed.
