Meet the Design Team
While Emma remains the creative founder of the business, Louise Wicksteed now heads up the design team, supported by our studio director and a team of experienced senior project leads.
Emma Sims-Hilditch grew up immersed in a world of art, architecture and design. She started her journey into the interior design sphere more than 20 years ago, making curtains from her kitchen table. In the years that have followed, Emma has developed the Sims Hilditch brand so that it has become synonymous with a timeless English living aesthetic reimagined with a fresh eye. Under Emma's guidance, Sims Hilditch has been recognised as one of the Top 100 design studios by a range of publications over the years, including House & Gardens, Country Life and Andrew Martin.
Henry Hird is a leading marketing and strategy consultant who established his own business after several years of heading up marketing for companies including Ralph Lauren, JLL and Jack Wills. Based in Hampshire, with a foothold in London, he’s excited about establishing Sims Hilditch as a world-renowned design studio.
Louise has a wealth of design experience having worked at internationally renowned studios 1508 London and Candy & Candy for more than 15 years before joining Sims Hilditch as Design Director in 2020. Now the brand's Creative Director, Louise takes a clear and thoughtful approach to design, weaving skilled craftsmanship, natural materials, classic architecture and contemporary details into carefully curated schemes. Louise enjoys working with the design team at Sims Hilditch to create spaces that are refined and elegant, while remaining grounded and welcoming.
Gemma joined Sims Hilditch in 2014 bringing with her 8 years of experience working in high-end residential and retail design. As Associate Director, Gemma supports Louise in managing the design team and overseeing the interior architecture and interior decoration phases of each project. Educated at the University of South Wales with a degree in Interior Architecture, Gemma most enjoys building long-lasting relationships with clients and creating homes that are uniquely tailored to meet their needs.

“Designers like Sims Hilditch are cherry-picking the best elements of rustic style to create elegant, country-lite interiors that combine rural luxury with a sleek urban edge. This “rurban” aesthetic looks as good in London as it does in deepest Lincolnshire.”
