Sims Hilditch has partnered with Tim Page Carpets to create The Una Collection of hand-dyed jute rugs which are woven using traditional Indian techniques.

The Story

Tim Page is renowned within the interior design industry for sourcing exceptional carpets and rugs from around the world, with a longstanding commitment to quality craftsmanship. Following many visits to its London showroom, we developed a shared vision for a capsule collection rooted in natural materials and traditional techniques.

Created in collaboration with Sims Hilditch, The Una Collection of rugs celebrates timeless design, artisanal craftsmanship and the enduring appeal of handmade pieces. Designed to complement both country houses and contemporary interiors, each rug reflects a dedication to quality, authenticity and lasting beauty.

Once we confirmed the overall look and feel, we began refining the design and colourways for the Una rug. It was important to consider palettes that would work in many different settings including residential homes, boutique cafés or even lifestyle stores and showrooms. Sims Hilditch work on a range of properties, from contemporary city apartments to converted barns and even Swiss Chalets. The colourways, which are Terracotta and Flax; Clay and Graphite; Clay and Cedar and Fern and Umber, have been designed to work well with each aesthetic.

The Making Process

Tim Page uses natural materials and dyes in the production of the Una rugs. We opted for a 100 per cent jute fibre for durability which is traditionally hand spun into yarns with artisanal skill. The yarns are then sheared on a loom and hand dyed to create the pattern and colourway. The final stage in the making process is to wash and trim the rugs which creates a pleasant softness underfoot. The Una collection is also now available in 100% wool for increased durability.

Each rug is made bespoke to order with a 12-14 week lead time. They can be specified up to 6 meters wide and are unlimited in length within reason. The Una design can be made into a full carpet if required, including for hallways and stair runners.

The Una Collection is designed to be versatile, working well in a traditional home filled with antiques, or a contemporary space with plenty of modern art.
