We began by stripping away layers of incongruous decoration to rediscover original features, such as beautiful wooden panelling and magnificent stone fireplaces.

The chalet has a large balcony across its upper floors which acts an extra room when the sun is shining. With a selection of pine furniture and cosy throws and cushions arranged beautifully on the comfortable seating, this is the perfect place to enjoy the magnificent views of the Swiss countryside.

While we installed many new features in this home, we were mindful to take our design cues from the property’s original country aesthetic. Much of the Cotswold stone was still in place, as was some of the original T&G paneling.

From cosy nooks and original beams to the airy bathroom complete with decadent bathtub, every inch of this property feels warm, lived-in and intimate, and will no doubt be a cherished home for many years to come.

Surrounded by green fields, landscaped gardens, resident bees and our vegetable patch, the idyllic setting inspires the team creatively. Inside, the studio has the essence of a real home and perfectly embodies the Sims Hilditch design ethos.
