Calcot Manor Hotel
Set within the Gloucestershire countryside, the reimagining of The Conservatory at Calcot Manor reflects a considered approach to interior design - balancing heritage with a lighter, more contemporary expression of hospitality.
Part of the 14th-century estate, the restaurant has been reconfigured to sit more naturally within its surroundings. A fluid, open-plan layout allows the space to connect seamlessly with adjoining lounges, creating a cohesive ground floor that supports a relaxed, all-day style of dining.
Natural light is central to the scheme. Expansive glazing and skylights draw daylight deep into the interior while framing views across the Cotswolds landscape, establishing a calm and enduring connection between inside and out.
The design reinterprets the English country house aesthetic with subtlety and restraint. A softened palette of greens and muted tones is layered with natural materials and tactile finishes, bringing warmth and depth without excess. Bleached timber introduces lightness, offset by darker joinery and sculptural lighting that lend quiet definition.
Bespoke detailing and carefully considered furnishings create a space that transitions effortlessly from morning to evening. Upholstered seating and layered textiles introduce a sense of comfort, grounding the interior in a more residential feel.
Conceived as a central social space within the hotel, The Conservatory offers flexibility without formality - an environment that adapts intuitively to its guests.
The result is a refined and enduring addition to Calcot Manor, rooted in its landscape and designed for contemporary country house living.
