Sims Hilditch: A Certified B Corp Studio

Following a two-year journey that began with the establishment of our Sustainability Committee in 2023, we are proud to announce that Sims Hilditch is now a certified B Corporation; a milestone that affirms our long-standing commitment to using design as a force for good.

Achieving a score of 87.8, we exceeded both the UK average (82.2) and industry benchmark (81.1), joining a select group of interior design studios worldwide to achieve B Corp status.

B Corp certification is a formal recognition of our ethos; championing longevity, craftsmanship, and a deep care for people.

The certification process involves an rigorous review across five key impact areas; Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers; each evaluated through an extensive audit.

To demonstrate our commitment to balancing people, planet and profit and achieve accreditation, we were required to exceed the benchmark in all categories, resulting in our overall score of 87.8.

Becoming B Corporation certified isn’t just a milestone, but a commitment to the continuous improvement of Sims Hilditch by balancing people, planet and profit.

Our progress will be measured through an annual impact report, and we will continue to champion B Corp throughout our business. Some of the ways we uphold this commitment include:

  • This year we were recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the  ‘Best Places To Work’ , measured by WorkL, employee engagement experts. Reflecting what we value most; a positive and creative space where talented people can thrive.
  • Through long-standing partnerships with Jamie’s Farm, we use design as a tool for positive change, contributing through pro bono design work, hands-on volunteering, and fundraising.
  • We prioritise responsibly sourced materials, antiques, and local craftsmanship. Every piece we select reflects our commitment to quality, longevity, and reducing environmental impact.
  • We continue to champion sustainability across the industry through talks, panels, collaborative initiatives, and leadership.
