Spring is in the air and it's got me thinking about colour schemes for the season. A colour that I am in love with at the moment is blush pink - it's soft yet holds its own well when incorporated into interior schemes and is particularly fantastic when layered with shades of grey as the moodboard below illustrates.
Blush works well as a colour choice for furniture as you can see on the painted cabinetry in the flower room and the sofa in the living room. For a lighter touch, pair it with white or paler tones of natural wood and light reflecting textures like glass. It's also a great accent colour which can be used to good effect with scatter cushions and ceramics. When it comes to using blush in a colour scheme, don't worry about being too matchy-matchy but try instead to layer a few different shades. For example, in the image of the bedroom we haven't matched the shades of grey to each other but instead we've used subtle tonal variations which gives more interest and depth. Also, by using a wallpaper in a sandy nude colour, the darker greys of the side table and headboard to stand out. I love using soft furnishings to add pops of colour and this example the chevron cushion brings a spark of life.
Till next time, happy scheming
