Teddington Riverside

At Sims Hilditch, we do very much enjoy working on properties whose architecture falls at both ends of the design spectrum, from heritage country homes to more modern apartments. This is what lead us to Teddington Riverside – a beautiful contemporary development of one, two and three-bed apartments perched on the edge of the River Thames.

For this interior design project, we were required to create a scheme for both the marketing suite and the two-bedroom show apartment. Being located within the charming confines of Teddington Village, though just 12-miles from the bustling capital, our design brief was to focus on a contemporary aesthetic with more classic undertones. The developer’s vision was very much looking to the future, while wanting there to be a bridge to the location’s past.

We therefore designed a scheme that has a clean, sharp contemporary spirit with crisp, strong lines throughout. For our main source of inspiration however, we looked to the natural surroundings of flowing water and an abundance of greenery. Much oak to pay homage to the tree trunks visible through each apartment’s windows, and a colour palette of calming blues and silvers. An element of luxury was a key aspect of our brief, so we selected pure silk wallpaper to cover walls. Artworks from room to room depict historic scenes including antique maps of the river’s course and of Teddington Village High Street.
