Converted London Loft

The starting point for all of our projects is the story of the building; we couldn’t have asked for a richer history than this former piano factory in the heart of Camden, North London. A departure from our signature aesthetic, this converted loft was an incredibly inspiring canvas to work with, steeped in history and finished to an impeccably high standard. First built in 1866, the grand factory with its Victorian sash windows and brick façade had undergone a three year restoration project and our client brought us in to bring life and spirit to the space.

Having previously worked with our client on a Scottish shooting lodge, we had already built a creative relationship and were excited to be tasked with sourcing antiques and unusual pieces as well as those all-important finishing touches. Led by the bones of the building (exposed brick-work and industrial steel) we sourced eclectic and original artwork, defined by a bold, colour palette. When it came to furniture, we sought iconic designs and future classics, playing with textures, materials and colour to bring a sense of lived-in charm to the space. This converted loft was a truly collaborative project between us and our client, resulting in a truly unique apartment; timeless, suitably unconventional and inspiring.
