This beautiful Queen Anne Home in a quite London suburb on the River Thames was the perfect choice for our clients and their growing family. We were commissioned to create a relaxed and luxurious interior without being too ostentatious.
Our first port of call was to consider how the space could be reworked to suit our clients’ lifestyle. Due to the property’s listed status, permission was obtained to remove the old servant’s staircase next to the kitchen in order to open up the living area and add a much needed pantry and bootroom.
The knock-on effect of removing the staircase created additional space on the upper floors, which we transformed into a study overlooking the back garden and a steam room – one of the items at the top of our clients’ wish list.
Modern additions such as underfloor heating as well as security, lighting and music controls were incorporated discretely alongside the restoration of period features. Inspiration for the colour scheme came from the property’s riverside location and our clients’ extensive art collection.
